Rennes starlet and Barcelona target Ousmane Dembele has been warned to keep his feet on the ground if he is to fulfill his potential, according to former striker Mickael Pagis.

The 18-year-old has attracted attention from Europe's top sides with his blistering performances for the Ligue 1 side, having scored nine goals in 17 appearances this term.

Dembele has admitted that his dream is to feature for the Catalan giants alongside Lionel Messi and Neymar, but Pagis believes he has to focus on his development before he can plan for a move to the world and European champions.


"I met him in Rennes before he played with the first team," the former Rennes and Marseille man told Goal. "He was already the best with his speed and impact. He managed to adapt quickly to a very high-level. It is true that he has had a meteoric rise, but he will have to manage this new attention."
